Licensing
What you can do with the file after you download it.
What is the difference between Standard and Extended?
Standard covers everyday commercial use — ads, social media, web, print runs up to 500,000 copies, one brand, one end product. Extended removes those caps: unlimited print run, resale in merchandise or templates, sensitive topics (health, politics, finance), and sub-licensing to agency clients. Both are worldwide and perpetual. Photos from €3.90, videos from €9.
Do I need a subscription?
No. We do not offer subscriptions. Every licence is one-time — pay once, use forever. No monthly fees, no seats, no credits that expire, no surprise renewals.
Can I license an asset exclusively?
Yes. Exclusive and buyout licences are handled by conversation rather than self-serve checkout — territory, duration and category need to be nailed down. On any asset page, click "Contact for exclusive licensing" or email us directly and we quote within one business day.
Are the people in the photos model-released?
Every human in our library signed a written model release before the shoot. We can provide a copy of the release (anonymised if needed) with any Extended licence. We do not use AI-generated or composite faces — if there is a person in the frame, that person exists and was paid.
Can I use the assets for AI training?
No. Training, fine-tuning or distilling AI/ML models on our assets is prohibited under both Standard and Extended. If you need a training-data licence, contact us — we quote per-corpus depending on volume and exclusivity.
What about editorial use?
All assets are cleared for commercial use, which includes editorial. We do not carry news/reportage imagery — everything is shot for licensing, not documentary purposes. If a shot has a recognisable brand, logo or trademarked location in it, we flag that on the asset page.
Downloads & files
How you get the file once you have paid.
What file formats do I get?
Photos are delivered as JPEG at full sensor resolution (typically 6000–8000 px on the long edge). RAW or TIFF is available on request for Extended buyers. Videos are delivered as H.264 MP4 (.mp4) in the highest resolution we shot — usually 4K UHD, occasionally 6K or 8K. ProRes / LOG masters on request for Extended buyers.
Do I always get the highest quality?
Yes. We do not charge more for resolution. Whether you buy Standard or Extended, you receive the same full-resolution master — the tier only changes what you are legally allowed to do with it.
How long is my download link valid?
The post-purchase download email contains a signed link that stays valid for 7 days. After that you can re-download at any time from your account under Downloads. Purchases do not expire — the file is yours forever.
Can I preview the file before I buy?
Yes. Every asset page has a "Download watermarked preview" button — a 1200 px JPG for photos, 480 p MP4 for videos, both with the BST watermark stamped across them. You only pay when you download the clean master.
What happens if the download fails?
Re-open the email link or sign in and use the Downloads tab. If the file is still not delivering, reply to the order confirmation — every order email routes back to a real inbox and we resend manually within one business day.
Custom shoots
Commissioning the studio to shoot something specific.
Do you take on custom production?
Yes. Typical custom shoots run €1,500–€6,000 depending on models, locations and post. Turnaround is usually two weeks from signed brief to final delivery. Send a brief via the contact form and we reply within one business day.
Can I brief AI-generated visuals?
No. We do not shoot AI output and we do not sell AI-generated imagery — the whole point of the studio is that everything is real. If you need AI visuals we are happy to recommend operators we trust.
Where do you shoot?
We are based between Bratislava, Copenhagen and Lisbon and most shoots happen in those three cities or within a short drive. Travel shoots elsewhere in Europe are possible — we quote flights, accommodation and crew separately.
Do you retain rights to custom work?
You choose. Default is a campaign licence (similar to Extended) where we retain the right to license non-hero outtakes. Full buyout (BST surrenders all rights, nothing goes into the stock library) is available as an upcharge — usually 1.5–2× the base shoot fee.
Payments & VAT
How buying actually works.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard and American Express via Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay on supported devices. PayPal. SEPA direct debit for EU buyers. For orders over €500 we can invoice on 14-day net with bank transfer — contact us first.
How does VAT work?
VAT is auto-calculated at checkout based on your billing country. EU B2B buyers enter a valid VAT ID and the transaction is reverse-charged (0% VAT on your invoice). UK buyers are charged UK VAT. Non-EU buyers are charged no VAT. All invoices are downloadable from your account afterwards.
Do you offer refunds?
Digital goods are non-refundable once the master has been downloaded. If you have not downloaded yet, or the file is defective, email us within 14 days and we refund in full. We have never argued about a refund request and do not plan to start.
Will my card be stored for future purchases?
Only if you sign in and opt in during checkout. Guest checkouts never store payment details. Stored cards live in Stripe — we never see or touch the card number ourselves.
Technical
For the developers and DAM admins.
Do you have an API?
Not publicly, yet. Bulk licensing and API access for agencies and platforms is available on request — we expose a signed-URL download endpoint and a keyword/search endpoint against our internal taxonomy. Contact us with your intended volume and we set up a key.
Can I search by colour, orientation, or aspect ratio?
Yes on orientation and aspect ratio. Colour search is in development — the AI tagger already indexes dominant colours, it just is not surfaced in the UI yet. All assets are tagged with orientation (horizontal / vertical / square) and you can filter any search that way.
Is the watermark on previews removable?
No — the watermark is burned into the preview file server-side at the pixel level, not applied as a removable overlay. Any attempt to clean it out is an automated reconstruction, which is both against our terms and usually leaves visible artefacts.
Do you have a keyword taxonomy I can see?
Yes. Our public keyword taxonomy (the one the AI tagger and our own stock pipeline both use) is readable via the /ai-tool page — run any image through it and the response shows the full keyword list with relevance scores.
